TestComplete - Introduction

TestComplete is a functional automated testing tool from SmartBear. It comes with Proprietary licnesing system. Using TestComplete we can automate WebDesktop and Mobile applications along with it supports latest frameworks WPF,.NET, Angulrar JS, Bootstrat etc.

TestComplete uses two license types:

1. Node-Locked
The Node-Locked license is attached to one computer. You can run only one TestComplete instance at a time on this computer.
2. Floating User License
The Floating User license lets you run several TestComplete copies on multiple computers in the local network. It is based on the license key.

Installation 
> A 64-bit operating system like Windows 7 or later.
> Microsoft Internet Explorer 10.0 or later.
> Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 (the 3rd generation).
> 8 GB of RAM or more

Install the trail version from this link and follow the steps, in which you can activate the application with trail license key. The trial period is 30 days.


Understanding TestComplete User Interface

In previous post, we've installed TestComplete application. Lets look into TestComplete User Interface. After installation, TestComplete icon created in Desktop. We can launch TestComplete application by double clicking. TestComplete UI will be displayed on the screen.

As we discussed in introduction post, TestComplete support variety of features. In this tutorial we're talking about automating web application using JavaScript. It is purely a scripting tutorial.

Lets look into how to create the project suite

Step 1: Create project suite from file menu as shown below

Step 2: Create project - Right click on the project suite >> Add >> New Item. Enter project name and click OK button. Make sure that language JavaScript. You can see the interface like this
